In this project, our client required a solution to automatically apply glue along a specific line on the film during the wrapping process of their packaging machine. Traditionally, this task was performed manually by the operator, who had to stop the machine, enter the safety cage, and apply glue to the film with a glue stick. This method was not only time-consuming but also introduced safety risks.
To address this issue, we designed an automated gluing mechanism installed above the film path. The system uses a stepper motor to rotate four glue sticks that briefly contact the moving film when glue application is required. This design eliminated the need to stop the machine, significantly improved process efficiency, and reduced operator exposure to hazardous conditions.
